OLSH Life - Prayer
We nurture the gift of prayer and have a special love for the Eucharist and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
We participate in personal prayer as well as prayer together.
We pray with our community, the morning and evening Prayer of the Church. We join the Church community to celebrate the Eucharist, where we together hear the word of God and gather around the table to be nourished and sent forth.
We spend some time in the morning praying alone. In the afternoon, we pray before the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, where we respond to Jesus’ love for us, and bring the world to Jesus, with all its pain and suffering, its wars and violence, its joys and its triumphs. We also come bringing the praise of creation and the joy of nature.
Each month we have a day for prayer and recollection, and each year a time of retreat. The gospels are particularly important to us, and we make time also for the reading of spiritual books and the sharing of our faith.
